Open in August of 2024 in Houston’s Highland Village, The salon unveiled the Balmain Paris Hair Couture branded products from the Paris fashion house. Hairstylists - personally selected by James Fojt for their expertise in color, styling and French hair cutting — the salon began welcoming clients at its Parisian inspired pied-à-terre space.

James Fojt — nationally known for his French-fashion-style hair cutting technique and his work with Odile Gilbert at NY fashion Week—has developed a devoted clientele during his 2 decades in the milieu of Houston’s leading salons. French trained in Paris by Jacques Dessange and José Eber, James developed a free-form signature cutting style; each cut is customized for the client. James understands Hair Couture. Partnering with Balmain Paris Hair Couture for the launch of his namesake atelier, his vision of a high design salon with the allure of fashion has become a reality. The Balmain Paris Fashion house is the only fashion house with a hair care line. Additionally, James Fojt Salons is the only Balmain Hair Prestige Salon in the USA and second only to Paris. They are proud to exclusively offer the Balmain Hair care, styling and color line.

As the private, glass elevator doors open, the alchemy of beauty and luxury experience awaits in the Salon. James Fojt has partnered with Dallas Interior Designer Francine Gersting to bring an elevated salon experience to Houston. With James’ extensive salon background and Francine’s design sensibilities, a sublime partnership has formed; where creativity, skill and attention to detail is met on every sensory level.

Segreto Venetian plastered walls and ceilings, pale wood herringbone pattern floors, set the ambience upon entering; floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural light to enhance the atmosphere and the beauty. The enthusiasm and warmth of the front desk team sets the tone — along with a curated music selection. The exquisite coffee bar selections including cappuccino, presented in Balmain signature cups and saucers await. Those visiting for color are personally escorted to a separate, Philip Jeffries wallpapered retreat for color processing. For special occasions or clients requiring privacy, a private room is discreetly tucked behind amber glass Art Nouveau antique doors. Styling and finishing services are provided in the spacious main Salon where clients enjoy the treetop view.
